I purchased this Trumpy as a basket case locally and rebuilt the engine and transmission with the help of an Old Triumph Enthusiast named Gus. Gus is in his Seventies, he has a wealth of Triumph knowledge as well as all the right tools to do the job properly. We fitted the bike with a 220 watt updated charging system as well as an oil filter kit, and a pair of more modern carbies. A home made battery box is also fitted. I had the wheels re-chromed and re-spoked, also the frame powder coated, a new speedo and rev counter are also fitted. At the moment still waiting for the Oil pressure gauge. I am 61 years young and own a Honda VTX 1300. I also have a restored 76 Bonneville and an almost completely restored 1970 Bonny. I just recently married a 45 year old biker bird, who owns a Suzuki 1400 Intruder. But we won’t hold that against her. In our spare time we like to travel on the bikes to near by cities. The closest big city is 300miles away. We are both members of the Ulysses Club. The Ulysses club is a club for over 40’s who like to ride motorcycles. The next major ride is to the Ulysses annual general meeting which is to be held in Newcastle, NSW. An 800 mile ride for us, about 12 hrs riding spread over a couple of days. For many years I have envied those who own a Bonny. Now I have the best of both worlds, thanks to team at Lowbrow Customs and the Magazines Dice and Greasy Kulture. All the best for your future land speed attempts I will be watching with interest. Thank you Lowbrow for your support. Regards Peter Rawlins, Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia
