Thanks to everyone who came out to swap and sell parts, hang out, and ride motorcycles. We had a real good turnout throughout the day Sunday, lots of people drug their old parts out, lots rode in, and we had a great time hanging out. So much so that I took one single photo, so I had to steal these off of our Facebook page, and most of them off the Forever The Chaos Life blog, thanks guys! Check out all the photos in an album on our Facebook page here. We are aiming to do this again this fall before the weather turns to crap, stay tuned.

Customer Bike Spotlight: Vance's Triumph

I don't think I have put Vance's Triumph up on the site before, but it is one of my favorites and happens to be local and belongs to a friend of mine right here in northeast Ohio. I first saw this bike when it was all bare steel and didn't have the fancy paint (Angel Dust Cycle Paint / Joe Koenigsmark) or beautiful chrome and polish job (Jason's Show Quality Polishing). The chrome loop on the hardtail is killer. Maybe Vance will chime in with some details..

The Speed Merchant Now In Stock

Finned Stator & Sprocket Covers for modern Triumphs (fits 2001-2011 Triumph Bonneville (T100), Thruxton, Scrambler, America and Speedmaster model) are now in stock in raw as well as black powdercoat. Top quality, made in California.

2nd Quarter Donations from Lowbrow Customers

I just sorted out donations from Lowbrow Customs customers for the 2nd quarter of 2012. Pretty good tallies, with $1417.90 going to Wounded Warrior Project, $974.38 to Room To Read, and $176.02 to! Thanks for all your support and helping to make the world a better place, a little bit at a time.

The photo above is from a classroom who received a new easel and art supplies from our donations via DonorsChoose. It always amuses me to see little kids writing out 'Lowbrow Customs' and such in the thank you letters, funny stuff.

Double Vision: Dual Engine Triumph Race Bike Update

I have been working on this bike non-stop the last six weeks, and it has caused me to empathize with people who have chosen the life of the recluse, leaving behind friends and family for a sole pursuit. I am not there myself, but I am looking through the keyhole and I feel as though I have come to some sort of understanding about that sort of thing though I rather wouldn't. But I digress; it has been a couple months since I updated photos of the build, which has since changed names from Milwaukee Murderer to Double Vision.

Special sprockets. This here is what joins the power of the motors by linking the crankshafts.

Oil tank in progress. Made a wood buck out of MDF and hammered annealed 5003 aluminum to make the face and dished back. Thanks to Jay Roche @ Special 79 for some tech posts on his blog which helped me out. This tank consumed at least 3 full days of my life, and I mean full days, but it is the nicest thing I have ever made.

Sometimes simple things are the best, I really like the way these fender mounts turned out.

This primary guard involved a really large MDF buck and plenty of time. I feel as though I welded miles of aluminum building this bike. Turned down a circle of MDF in my lathe, routed the edge over and hammered the dish over the clutch basket area. 1/2" strip welded to that to bring it out a bit more, and the face and sides all welded up while clamped to the wood buck to keep it in shape. Mounts to 9/16" stainless round bar that is welded to the stainless motor plates. Should be up to tech for Bonneville in August.

More aluminum, chain guard and number plates. This was a little while ago and was about the end of the major fab work. I subsequently tore the bike down to the bare frame and finish welded everything. More pics to come soon... ?

Help Wes White @ Four Aces

Our good friend Wes White of Four Aces Cycle was recently in a bike accident due to a hit-and-run driver. He woke up in an ambulance with a busted up ankle and ended up having surgery to make him more machine than man. Well his ankle at least. Wes has a big hospital bill looming and is going to be laid up a bit. We, along with many other fine motorcycle companies, are trying to raise some funds for Wes to make his recovery time a little less stressful, and to help cover the surgery costs. For the month of June we are donating a percentage of sales of any t-shirt, as well as on a couple of our most popular items, P-Nut gas tanks and Biltwell Flat Black DOT Helmets. Of course, you can always buy one of Wes's racing support shirts or DVDs, as that money goes direct to him. Thanks for your help!
