Flashback....

One of the best parts of traveling around for shows is getting to see some great bikes and seeing friends we don't get to see all the time. Larry and Ashley from Garage Co. Customs in Pelham, AL are not only friends but as always bring a little eye candy for us to drool over. This flashback style chopper is a perfect example, after the initial impression you begin to notice all the little things, the narrowed super stretched springer, the killer engraving everywhere, etc.
All the engraving had to be one of my favorite parts of this bike, very cool look, I wish I had the skill and patience to do this! The pictures just don't do it justice.

A Visit To The Garage Company

I just got back from my trip to California with my '59 Pan for Born Free 3. It was a blast, days spent riding around, visiting friends, just riding, no plans of where I was staying or what was going on that day. I ended up at a BBQ at Wil's place in Seal Beach and crashed there for the night along with lots of other people. The next morning a group of us took the coastal route up to Inglewood and visited Yoshi's The Garage Company. The photos above are just a taste of his shop. Unreal stuff. Sorry for the mediocre cell phone photos!

Panhead En Route to Born Free 3

Greg gave me a hand hauling my Panhead over to the local Forward Air terminal and getting it loaded up yesterday. It is now en route to Born Free 3, I fly in to LAX and get to the terminal (thanks Kit!!), dump some gas in the tank and head towards Oak Canyon Ranch area. I can't wait to get out there and flog the crap out of my bike and punish it for snapping a rocker arm on the El Diablo Run.

Me and Darly June riding the wild thunder.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's day to everyone! I spent the day with my family but Friday and Saturday I was busy in the shop working away on my Bonneville bike. I got the oil tank repaired and re-mounted, finished my new control linkages and made a new chain guard to pass tech inspection. I am getting through things pretty fast although I still have to finish my fairing which is the big project.Less than 2 months until we leave for Bonneville, I am sure I will be ready but it is closing fast! If you want to help support Tyler and my race efforts you can but a Lowbrow Customs Bonneville 2011 support t-shirt HERE!

The Smokeout and Born Free 3 are this week, and The Salt Ghost World Premier and Mid-Ohio are coming up in July as well.

Katy's First Bike

We just picked up Katy's first bike today, a 2001 Honda XR100. She is stoked, it is the perfect size for her to get a bit frisky in the dirt here at the shop. She learned to ride on Todd's early '70's Yamaha swap-meet-cruiser but was ready for a bike of her own. We have 22 acres of land to ride on, and with everyone here having a dirt bike (mix of vintage and modern) it is a good time for sure.

She sent Shawn Long of Imperial House 71 her helmet and he lettered it up for her, killer job as always!

Lowbrow Panhead: Painted and Done (for now)!

Just got the tins back yesterday morning from Joe Koenigsmark / Angel Dust Cycle Paint. Joe is the talented gent who painted my green '55 Triumph land speed bike last year. Along with his brother Jerry they run Jerry's House of Kolors in Elyria, Ohio. If you have a bike or car and you want a killer 60's paint job, hit them up. Their dad started the shop in 1957, so it's in their blood.

Got the pipes chromed as well, and Kyle's girlfriend Ava went OCD on my bike with a bunch of q-tips, rags and polishing compound and made it look nicer than ever. The bike and myself will be out at Born Free 3 next weekend, hope to see you there!
