Lowbrow Holeshot 2011 Wrap-Up

A big thanks goes out to all that attended the races at Western Reserve Motorcycle Club this past weekend and hung out and partied. There was a huge turnout, probably twice the size of last year. A big thanks to LF who was manning the BBQ cooking through the entire evening and feeding lots of hungry motorcycle enthusiasts for free, and also to The Burning Harlots who put on a good show for everyone. Someone got hurt late that night, hit by a truck, we don't have any details but our thoughts go out to him and to his family, hope everything turns out okay.

The Lowbrow Holeshot, tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 24th, 2011

TOMORROW is the 2nd annual Lowbrow Holeshot at Western Reserve Motorcycle Club in conjunction with their flat track races. The address is 14439 W Middletown Rd, Salem, OH 44460. Friends are already arriving from all around Ohio, and as far away as California with more on the way from all directions. The weather is actually looking pretty good, but if there is a sprinkle or two of rain all you hardcore motorcycle enthusiasts won't have any trouble with that, I am sure. The Holeshot is going on rain or shine! We don't have an organized ride going out, but small groups of people are leaving from all dfiferent locations and converging starting in the mid-afternoon. Come on out and let them know you are there with Lowbrow when coming in the gate for free entry, and watch the races, enjoy the great food and bar-be-que prepared by our friend LF, live music by The Burning Harlots, and a screening of The Salt Ghost under the stars, with more biker flick b-movies to follow. Free beer while it lasts, and camping, be prepared for an all night party!

Customer Bike Spotlight: Scott Witherspoon's '79 Yamaha XS650

I spotted Scott's Yamaha 1979 XS650 on xs650chopper.com, liking it immediately and then noticed that it had a David Bird hardtail on it (4" stretch, 2" drop looped style). I emailed him and asked for some pics and he sent these along. An excerpt about the bike from xs650chopper.com (original article here):

"Some main features of the bike are that it has a wassell style peanut tank, handmade fender made by my dad, previously mentioned David Bird hardtail from Lowbrow Customs, narrowed Biltwell bars, electrics box made from an ebay oil tank kit, 4 ½” bates style headlight, shaved and lowered front forks, pipes made by me, PMA swap and Pamco ignition."

The Brooklyn Invitational

This is our first year attending the Brooklyn Invitational, and this show is amazing! Great bikes and eye candy everywhere, and friends in from all over the world.
