November's Charitable Givings

We received some letters and drawings from the elementary students in Ms. Nodelman's class in Los Angeles and also from Ms. Scallon's 2nd grade classroom, which were both helped out with donations from Lowbrow customer's from the month of October. Your donation of spare change during checkout helps make a difference in these kid's lives! Thank you.

A total of $534.83 was collected during the month of November from customer's donations, and being December and a season of giving we decided to match those contributions dollar for dollar and also an extra $202 from sales of our Winged Wheel Patch, for a total of over $1200 for November! This includes almost four hundred dollars going to the latest charity we added last month, the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation. Thanks for your support in these causes, and Happy Holidays!

Thank You Letters From Texas Classroom

The kids pictured above are from Mr. Wills's fourth grade class in Texas. Money contributed by Lowbrow & our awesome customers in the month of October helped buy their classroom a laptop computer. We received some thank you letters here from the kids, it is appreciated and I just get a kick out of seeing little kids writing 'Dear Lowbrow Customs'.

Thank You Notes from Mrs. Meyers's Classroom

We just got in a packet of notes from the kids in Mrs. Meyers's classroom in Missouri that got donations from Lowbrow & customers for the month of September. I forgot that lined paper like this even existed. Maybe I should use some, my handwriting looks way worse than these kids'. Thanks to everyone who donated their spare change during checkout in September, you helped buy school supplies and learning aids for this classroom!

Lowbrow Customer Donations for September, 2011

Lowbrow customers donated $508.51, which we matched dollar for dollar, raising $1,017.02 for children and education both domestically and internationally in the month of September! Thanks again for your support of Lowbrow Customs as well as education; hopefully it will help make the world a little bit better.

Lowbrow Customers Donate Almost $600 to Charity In August

I couldn't be more stoked on using the Lowbrow website and our great customers to help raise money for those less fortunate. I will put our money where our mouth is and Lowbrow Customs will match all donations dollar for dollar made in the month of September; the more you donate, the more we donate.
In August almost $600 was donated by you, our customers, by rounding up your order to the nearest dollar during checkout and donating the change to a couple different educational charities. $462 was raised and donated to Room to Read, bringing our total for 2011 up to $5169.07. Once we hit $12,000 three libraries will be built in developing countries. Another $120 was donated via DonorsChoose.org, which went to Mrs. M's class in Joplin, Missouri:

"My students are K-3rd graders with special needs from a poverty school. Many of my students have social needs and require teaching, practice, and modeling on how to deal with daily social issues. I have students who also need support with reading, math and writing. They need small group or individual instruction to meet these needs. My ultimate goal for the students is to have the opportunity to function and learn as other students in our school and community."

Lowbrow Customers Donate More Than $750 to Charity In July

Lowbrow is about the best job I can imagine. I really, thoroughly enjoy what I do every day and I think everyone else here does as well. One thing that I thought was missing was our chance to use our customer base and reach to help people in the world who have much bigger problems than a motorcycle project to complete. We started earlier this year by donating the full sale price of our Winged Wheel Patch and the proceeds from the Moto Mouse T-Shirt to charity. We decided to take it a step further and the last month or so; when checking out on our site you may have noticed the 'Charity' section asking you to round your order total up to the nearest dollar figure, donating your spare change to a choice of two charities, Room to Read or Donor's Choose. You stepped up and we raised about $750 in the first month with this new program!

We are currently supporting two educational charities, and will switch it up occasionally to help support different causes. The idea behind education is it empowers young people to do something with their life and rise above their means, to take care of themselves and their families. Donor's Choose supports U.S. public schools, teachers can put up requests for donations for a variety of things their class room might need to help give the students a more enjoyable and educational experience. For the month of July funds were donated to high-poverty locations to help buy elementary school students exercise equipment in Grand Rapids, Michigan, help with a purchase of an iPad for literacy and math skills for students in Siler City, NC, and to buy more books for children in Kyle, South Dakota. What is so cool is the photos above aren't of random kids, these are the actual children in the classrooms that Lowbrow's customers helped support.

Room to Read builds schools, reading rooms (libraries) and helps girl's get schooling in developing countries. In countries such as Cambodia, Nepal, South Africa and Zambia (just to name a few) public school isn't a choice, and in many areas there are no resources to teach children. Our goal this year is to raise $12,000 which will fund the construction of three reading rooms, stocked with local language books and a trained local librarian. So far we are at $4,707.01 raised and donated, so we are more than a third of the way there.

I am not writing this to pat ourselves on the back but to bring awareness. Help us meet the goal and help so many other people, next time you order from Lowbrow choose one of these charities to donate your spare change to.
